An essential part of Living Lakeshore is giving back to our community. We sponsor activities throughout the year where the entire Lakeshore Nation is invited to participate in supporting local community organizations with more than a checkbook; we get out there and support them with our feet!

Care about people and their problems as your own

It bothers that most of our industry doesn’t seem to genuinely care about the people they engage. They’ll set lofty expectations they can’t deliver out of their need to seem credible. If you can benefit them, you’re suddenly their best friend. If not, move along. The really sad part is that it happens to Candidates and Employers alike. It’s very much a “what’s in it for me” attitude.

At Lakeshore the Value we bring job seekers is very different. We provide any assistance we can to our Candidates in their job search, whether or not we directly benefit. It’s important to us to see people reach their potential and make sure they land in the right place. For every person we help with their job search (even if we don’t place them), we recruit another loyal advocate to the Lakeshore Nation!

Be an empowered Leader in your role

You’ll notice at Lakeshore that no one has the word “Manager” in their title. We do this deliberately. In an environment based on empowerment and personal responsibility, you don’t need managers; you need Leaders. Whether you’re our President or an entry-level Team Member, it’s up to all of us to be Leaders in our respective roles.

In today’s fast paced marketplace, we cannot survive without the best technology available. Lakeshore is partnered with the top technology providers in our industry. Subsequently, we all hold a responsibility to embrace our Technology and go out of our way to learn how to best utilize it in service of the Team.

We are committed to environmental responsibility and view technology as a means of being respectful in our use of natural resources. We’re reducing our footprint as demonstrated by our Lakeshore Green™ paper reduction program. We’ve also simplified processes for our Candidates and Employers, making their roles a little easier and their Experience with Lakeshore a lot better. From electronic time cards, to electronic billing, to an online application process, we’re always looking for ways to get rid of our filing cabinets!

Value fun, creativity, and diversity

We “Work Smart, Play Smart.” There is always room to have fun and we never take ourselves too seriously. We embrace Team building activities and don’t shy from the opportunity to spend time with our Teammates. The stronger our relationships internally, the better we perform as a Team.

Creativity is crucial to our ability to stay ahead in our business, and we realize our Team is the engine that drives Lakeshore. Team input is critical to our success! That’s why we’ve created many different “huddle” groups for idea sharing, collaboration, and leading key initiatives.

However, we will not always agree. (Imagine that!) Our strength as a Team doesn’t come from how we agree, but how we disagree. Courageous conflict is a hallmark of any successful Team. We value the perspective of others, exercise patience as they share their viewpoint, and are courageously respectful as we communicate our perspective. If we are to reach our Team goals, we must be committed to confronting any challenge in a productive way.
